British Airways lets consumers book flights via mobile banner ads

British Airways is sponsoring The London Evening Standard?s mobile application by running banner ads that let users book flights.

Users can click on the banner ads, which take them to British Airway?s Web site. The ads are featured throughout the application?s five categories--news, business, sports, showbiz and life and style.

?Our strategy is to extend the experience for their readers, offering instant access to London Evening Standard news and information, and open the door for additional revenue opportunities,? said Erica Cohen, spokeswoman for Handmark, Kansas City, MO.
