WeatherBug adopts Medialets rich-media ad platform in apps

WeatherBug has selected Medialets? mobile rich-media ad platform for its iPhone and iPad applications.

Medialets? platform lets publishers, developers, agencies and advertisers deliver mobile rich-media ads across iPhone, iPad and Android devices. WeatherBug can now provide advertisers with splash screens and expandable banners that enable various click-to actions.

?WeatherBug offers unpaid, ad-supported and paid subscription versions of its mobile applications,? said Mike Lombardi, vice president of advertising sales and marketing for WeatherBug, Germantown, MD.

Click-to actions that WeatherBug can now offer advertisers include click-to-call, click-to-landing page, click-to-video, click-to-application store and click-to-form.

In addition, brands can take advantage of unique mobile capabilities including tilting, scratching and shaking.  

Several brands are launching Medialets advertising on WeatherBug applications including Discovery Channel, which is using it to drive tune-in for its upcoming ?Storm Chasers? series, premiering Oct. 13. 

In addition, Marcal Small Steps is kicking off its advertising campaign as the official sponsor of Fall Foliage on WeatherBug properties.

Consumers prefer the weather information provided within WeatherBug applications that include interactive displays and location intelligence, which enable users to have immediate access to their preferred weather information.
