Mobile Monday Los Angeles, a global community of mobile industry veterans, has announced the judges panel for its newly-launched Mobile Excellence Awards honoring outstanding achievements and leadership in mobile entertainment.

The awards recognize the best in mobile categories such as media, marketing and technology within the mobile entertainment industry. The awards will take place Oct. 30 at the Academy of Television, Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood, CA.

"The mobile community needs a place to be recognized for their achievements," said Sarah Miller, chairman of Mobile Monday Los Angeles and CEO of Axis PR & Marketing. "We need a place where they can show what they are doing and learn from one another."

The new judges include:

Judges will score entries based on information and market initiatives that have influenced the mobile entertainment industry. The main focus will be on technical, creative or commercial innovation, best use of mobility, ease of use, quantifiable business benefits, proven success in the market and achievement of original objective.

Mobile Monday is currently taking submissions.

Companies are encouraged to articulate how their solutions and initiatives drive growth and accelerate the mobile entertainment industry. Pictures or screenshots can be submitted with each submission, and a URL can be supplied to depict examples of the entrant's solutions.

The cost of initial submission is $175. All following submissions cost an additional $135. A $75 late fee will be added per entry for submissions after the July 31 deadline.

The awards being presented are the Industry Star Award, also known as the People's Choice Award, which offers special recognition for industry achievement.

Awards in Mobile Business include Best Start-up, Best Comeback, Best Innovator and Best Corporate Citizen.

Awards in Mobile Technology recognize Best Mobile Video, Best Mobile Advertising and Best Social Network.

Mobile Marketing awards are given to Best Advertiser, Best Viral Campaign and Best Promotion.

Finally, awards for Mobile Entertainment are given to Best Game, Best Music Application, Best Original Program, Best Adapted or Companion Program and Best Community/Fan Content.

"We are looking forward to recognizing technology, consumer services, experiences, content creation, marketing devices, revenue generators and the ability to accelerate growth of the mobile entertainment industry," Ms. Miller said. "We hope this event will encourage innovation and educate the general public about the mobile industry."
