Ad:tech attendees recognize power of mobile: MobileMix exhibitors

By Jodie Solomon

The MobileMix Zone at ad:tech San Francisco 2010 proved that traditional marketers are finally realizing the power of mobile.

Exhibitors included Mobile Marketer and Mobile Commerce Daily, Neustar, FlyCast, OpenMarket, SMaSh, ScanBuy and Vdopia.

Jodie Solomon, director of ad sales at Mobile Marketer and Mobile Commerce Daily walked through the MobileMix Zone and got some feedback from exhibitors.

Here is what they had to say:

Todd Snyder, sales manager at Neustar, Sterling, VA
Lots of buzz around mobile and bar codes generated much interest. And, common short codes are still a major part of mobile initiative. Traffic was very positive compared to last year.

Peter Clough, director of advertising sales at FlyCast, Livermore, CA
Everything worked well with the pod, but it was difficult being on the inside. Traffic was light, but we had some good quality.

Jesse Silver, senior business development manager at OpenMarket, New York
It was great seeing everyone making a point to stop by the MobileMix Zone. The growth of mobile in the industry is very exciting. This has been the best and busiest MobileMix Zone I?ve ever seen.

Eric Boduch, CEO of SMaSh, San Francisco
Mobile continues to grow. It was great seeing all of the traffic in the MobileMix Zone and learning how people want to do more sophisticated applications with text and mobile.

David Javitch, vice president of marketing at ScanBuy, New York
Attendees at ad:tech are really starting to see the power of mobile as another digital screen. We got the message from many people that the channel is gaining traction and will be a part of their media mix.

Mike Coppola, founding team of iVdopia, New York
I?m a big fan of Mobile Marketer. It?s good to be here.

Michael Ahearn, vice president of marketing strategy at iLoop Mobile, San Francisco

Ad:tech San Francisco 2010 was a great show, and as a mobile marketing solutions and services company, iLoop Mobile is encouraged to see mobile marketing now as a central feature of the exhibition floor and in the conference session curriculum.

The Mobile Mix Zone for mobile marketing was packed for both days, and visitors had great questions and interest in leveraging mobile for their brand or clients.

We were pleased to see overall event traffic getting back to pre-downturn levels, the show floor in general was buzzing and kudos to Brad Berens and Warren Pickett for putting together another great program of conference sessions.

I look forward to the New York show, and encourage any brand agency to attend.

Ad:tech more than ever is an essential event and resource to stay on top of an industry that is changing and reinventing itself on almost a daily basis.

Traffic was great here in the pavilion, people asked the right questions, especially regarding how mobile is being executed. The MobileMix Zone was a great location for mobile marketers to interact with the ad:tech attendees. Overall the show was a huge success and so was the MobileMix Zone.
