Nonprofit collects donations via mobile

The Chicago Area Peace Corps Association is using mobile as a means of collecting donations.

CAPCA has selected Mpayy Inc and its Secure Donation Widget to process ticket payments for its Founder's Day 2008 Celebration. It will also handle all donations and payments for its general fund and other events throughout the year.

"CAPCA was looking for a payment solution to process tickets to the Founder's Day event," said Trace Johnson, vice president of products at Mpayy, Chicago. "The organization needed something quick and easy to set up, with low fees."

CAPCA brings together more than 400 returned Peace Corps Volunteers who live and work in the Chicago area. CAPCA is affiliated with the Washington, DC-based National Peace Corps Association.

The organization's primary objective is to fulfill, in the Chicago area, the mission of the National Peace Corps Association: Continue to work for world peace, understanding, and well-being, with an emphasis on bringing the world back home.

Founder's Day 2008 is Sept. 27 from 6-9pm.

Mpayy's widget can be shared with the click of a button. It can also be embedded in Facebook, MySpace or any Web page or blog, all without compromising security.

Donating is a simple two-step process. Mpayy manages security so the client does not have to.
