SeamlessWeb goes mobile

SeamlessWeb, an online food ordering service, has launched a mobile Web site and iPhone Web application in an effort to reach all types of mobile users, regardless of their device.

The SeamlessWeb mobile site, available on any Web-enabled mobile device at http://www.seamlessweb.com, allows hungry users to view menus and order meals from more than 3,500 restaurants in over 22 cities.

"SeamlessWeb wanted to support all types of users, on any mobile devices," said Jason Taylor, vice president of mobile products at Usablenet, New York. "Mobile gives customers the ultimate flexibility in ordering food anywhere.

"The mobile site makes SeamlessWeb's unique features more accessible," he said. "Individuals can re-order their favorite meals in just two clicks, on a computer or on their phones."

SeamlessWeb is a Web-based food ordering system that links companies and individuals with local restaurants, caterers and onsite dining providers.

Usablenet's mobile Web platform provides brands like Sears, Nissan and Infiniti with a new channel to extend marketing, commerce and client service efforts to their customers.

The SeamlessWeb site was developed in response to high demand from SeamlessWeb customers for the ability to order food on-the-go.

Users can now log into existing accounts or create a new account from their mobile device and take advantage of the same features and functionality as the original Web site.

Users will be able to find and sort through restaurants that deliver to their address. They can also pay and tip by credit card.

SeamlessWeb is just one of the brands that Usablenet has built mobile sites for.

Carmakers Infiniti and Nissan are now providing customers with the ability to view car information while on the go, using Usablenet.

The carmakers teamed up with Usablenet to create mobile sites, which let customers view car information and image galleries, request quotes and locate dealers through any Web-enabled mobile device.

Best Western Mobile is also powered by Usablenet. The service enables the hotel's customers to access all of the features of the Best Western Web site from any Web-enabled mobile device. Users simply type http://www.bestwestern.com into the phone's Web browser to access the site.

"For the customer, SeamlessWeb's mobile site is perfect for ordering quickly in busy situations -- during long meetings, on the way home or while running errands," Mr. Taylor said. "For SeamlessWeb, the mobile site is the perfect companion and extension to their main site, providing the same features and functionality to both corporate and individual customers."
