AT&T customers can now receive full NBC Universal coverage, as well as other content related initiatives on their mobile devices and other AT&T screens. Beginning August 8, the wireless service will feature constant coverage of the Olympics, such as live competition footage, via the NBC Olympics 2Go mobile TV channel.
“As part of the agreement, AT&T customers will have extensive access to all NBC Universal Olympic coverage across all three screens, including exclusive around-the-clock and live competition footage over AT&T Mobile TV,” said Jessica Ring, spokeswoman for AT&T, Dallas, TX.
“AT&T is at the forefront of three-screen entertainment and remains committed to delivering compelling content across the three screens our customers value most,” she said.
AT&T Mobile TV, which provides television on select handsets, is powered by MediaFLO USA. The service will only be available on two devices, the LG Vu and the Samsung Access.
In addition, AT&T's wireless subscribers can access stories, polls, photos and medal counts on the NBC Olympics Mobile Web site through AT&T MEdia Net. Subscribers can view real-time results and event schedules during the Olympic Games.
Customers can also opt-in to receive breaking news alerts on their AT&T mobile devices on topics including medal results and athlete news by texting OLYMPICS to short code 51515.
AT&T will serve as the official telecommunications services partner of the U.S. Olympic Team. All 2008 Olympic Games programming will be offered to AT&T subscribers for only standard wireless data subscription fees.
The other two AT&T screens, television and broadband, offer other versions of the broadcasts.
AT&T U-verse TV customers can access NBC Olympics on-demand content, such as a synopsis of the best events of the day, memorable events from past games, athlete features, and Beijing previews.
U-verse customers will also have access to an NBC Olympics Interactive feature which will offer the latest headlines, multifeed, live Olympic Games programming, a medal tracker and bios of Team USA athletes.
AT&T High Speed Internet customers will be able to access NBC Olympics on-demand content via http://www.att.net, and can also download interactive widgets from NBCOlympics.com.
“AT&T continues to look at new and creative ways to work with programmers like NBC Universal to deliver even more great benefits to customer,” she said.
