AT&T introduces Southeastern Conference football mobile portal

AT&T has announced that it is offering fans of the Southeastern Conference an exclusive mobile destination -- SEC Mobile -- for SEC news, games, trivia and contests.

AT&T is also offering fans the chance to win prizes in the AT&T Where Legends Live Sweepstakes. The grand prize is two tickets to the SEC Championship and the BCS game in which the SEC champion plays. Other prizes include a trip for two to the SEC Championship game, Samsung handsets, AT&T gift cards and SECStore.com gift certificates.

"We've been a sponsor of the Southeastern Conference for three years now, and have always been interested in engaging the passionate fans of the SEC with our brand and products," said Dawn Benton, spokeswoman for AT&T, Atlanta, GA. "SEC Mobile gives us a compelling platform to showcase our data and Cellular Video packages and drive additional subscribers for those products.

"Through SEC Mobile we are offering those enthusiastic SEC fans easy 24-hour, on-the-go access to exclusive content that brings them closer to the SEC and offers inside peeks into one of the most exciting conferences in college football," she said. "We are also driving traffic to local stores through SEC-themed events that will include store appearances with SEC legends, pep rallies and consumer offers on Samsung products for SEC Fans."

Subscribers can access the interactive SEC Mobile portal by texting SEC to 567890 from an AT&T http://www.att.com/wireless handset.

Through the portal, AT&T customers can make their voice heard and vote throughout the season for the SEC's All-Time Greatest Team.

They can choose from 32 of the greatest teams to hit the field during the past 75 years of SEC football to select the ultimate team.

Customers can check out the latest seeded matchups online at http://www.mysecmobile.com and then vote via an AT&T handset.

In addition, each week, AT&T will post the SEC Matchup Challenge, which will challenge fans to test their SEC knowledge to correctly pick the winner of each week's SEC matchups.

Fans can also test their SEC history and team knowledge by participating in the weekly SEC Legends Trivia, with five questions per week.

Every SEC text to 567890 is an entry into the Where Legends Live Sweepstakes.

SEC fight song ringtones and graphics are also available.

In addition, every vote for the SEC's All-Time Greatest Team, each pick in the SEC Matchup Challenge and every trivia question answered serves as an entry into the sweepstakes.

AT&T is the official telecommunications sponsor of the SEC and a presenting sponsor of SECSports.com.

Through SEC Mobile, AT&T offers fans exclusive video and news via CV, an on-demand streaming video service that offers a library of mobile video content. It is available only on AT&T handsets.

This Week in the SEC features players of the week, weekend previews and highlights from the game of the week.

In addition, SEC Mobile offers users video clips from ESPN, Fox Sports College Football, College All-Access and SEC and NCAA Football News.

Official AT&T Where Legends sweepstakes rules can be found online at http://www.textrules.com/sec.
AT&T CV requires a MEdia Max Unlimited or MEdia Net Unlimited bundle.

Customers with Web-browsing capabilities on their handset -- typically a PDA -- and a data package can also view the mobile Web site at http://mysecmobile.com.

"We are promoting SEC Mobile through public relations efforts, cross-promotion with the SEC on Web banners, etc., and local market outreach with in-store efforts including flyers, bag stuffers and tagging local media," Ms. Benton said. "There may be cross-promotion of AT&T products and services, but no other ads will be run on this platform.

"Samsung is our handset partner and we are working closely with them," she said.
