December 10, 2007

Mobile data revenues in Asia-Pacific will reach $22.45 billion in 2007
Flash Networks, a provider of mobile Internet quality of experience technology, has added six carriers to its platform to enable easy navigation while browsing the Internet using mobile devices.
The new customers include Huawei in China, Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, Optus and Telering in Australia and Telkomsel in Indonesia. With this expansion, the Hong Kong-based company will also offer local sales and support services throughout the region.
The company expanded its presence in Asia-Pacific in response to an increased demand for the mobile Internet in that region.
Flash Networks’ platform enables the rapid introduction of mobile Internet services such as downloads. The company serves more than 40 wireless carriers worldwide such as T-Mobile, Vodafone and Orange.
The leading concern of mobile data users is response time, which Flash Networks hope to speed.
Data revenues for mobile operators in Asia-Pacific have increased by 219 percent in the past three years to reach $22.45 billion at the end of 2007, according to market researcher Frost & Sullivan.
This growth has been driven by greater 3G coverage and deployment, a focus on the expanding regional subscriber base, the declining cost of advanced multimedia handsets and the competition to secure a continuous stream of content through partnerships, the company claims.
