Airlink Mobile, Sprint debut national prepaid unlimited calling plans

Airlink Mobile, a provider of apps for wireless networks, has launched the first nationwide unlimited calling plan under $60 per month called Powerlink Unlimited.

The new Powerlink Unlimited network services are offered on the Nationwide Sprint PCS Network. Powerlink Unlimited has no restrictions on the consumers' home calling area. Airlink Mobile's new unlimited plan offers nationwide coverage and U.S. long distance on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Convenience stores and wireless dealers benefit from enhanced customer loyalty and increased revenue when their customers are more committed to a prepaid program, said David Stanek, president/CEO of Airlink Mobile.

"Forty percent of the customers that walk into dealer locations to buy a phone don't qualify for a post-paid contract," he said. "The prepaid wireless market will grow by over 600 percent in the next three years and we are ready to meet the demand."

Airlink Mobile enables consumers to travel coast-to-coast on Sprint's all-digital calling network with no roaming or long distance charges.

The prepaid wireless market, comprising consumers with no credit or bad credit or students, has seen exponential growth in recent years. Nearly 80 percent of mobile users in Europe and Asia already prefer using prepaid over postpaid calling plans.

In addition to unlimited calling, Powerlink also offers traditional services such as SMS text messaging, picture messaging, 411, mobile Web and international dialing.

Powerlink offers handsets by LG and Samsung, including flip phones, camera phones and Bluetooth-enabled phones. All phones are brand new and come with a one-year manufacturer's warranty.

Powerlink also features international calling rates to Latin America that include pricing to Mexico starting at 4 cents per minute with no additional fees, airtime charges or surcharges.
