Vegas.com goes mobile with ticket-booking option

New show in town

Vegas.com is letting consumers access Las Vegas entertainment information and buy tickets to shows right from their mobile phones.

With the Vegas.com mobile application's Mobile Concierge and Box Office, consumers can view times, ticket prices and reviews by texting 777 to short code Vegas (83427). Consumers can also visit the site at http://mobile.vegas.com on their handheld devices for an mobile-optimized version of the http://www.vegas.com Web site for computers.

“Our mission has always been to meet the customer wherever they are, and this gives us another opportunity to do so,” said Bryan Allison, senior vice president of marketing at Vegas.com.

“The mobile site has been optimized with products two days out - we're gearing this toward people who are already here in Vegas and are looking for ways to book shows, tours and other activities," he said. "They can also reach our 24-7-365 contact center with questions while they're visiting."

Customers can select a show or tour and be instantly connected to live personnel from Vegas.com's contact center. The personel complete the transaction by taking the customer’s name and credit card number.

After customers have placed the ticket order, confirmation information is emailed directly to the their mobile device or to an email address.

The Box Office in Your Pocket application is a 2D barcode ticket that is displayed directly on the consumer's mobile device.

Vegas.com has concierge service desks at nearly 70 locations and  manages box offices at properties including the Wynn, Las Vegas Hilton, Flamingo, Rio, the Palms, Paris, Harrah's, Bally’s, Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, New York-New York and Luxor.

“The strategy is to make our platform the most up to date, reliable source of information on Vegas to the mobile audience and  maintain our position as the No. 1 provider of Las Vegas show tickets, in the most convenient way for people already in town, allowing them to make the most of their time in town,” Mr. Allison said.
