Billing Revolution, MoVoxx enable mobile commerce via SMS ads

Ad network MoVoxx is using Billing Revolution's mobile payments technology platform to commerce-enable ad placements on mobile phones.

The partnership lets MoVoxx advertisers use the Billing Revolution service to add payment functionality to SMS advertisements, generating more frequent transactions from mobile users who see the ad, click on it, enter their credit card information, then buy the good or service. MoVoxx's publisher clients include MTV Network and Thomson Reuters, while its advertisers include Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Ford Motor Media Group and Sears Holdings Corp.

"Both companies see previously untapped opportunities in the mobile advertising space when commerce is introduced," said Michael Dulong, cofounder/senior vice president of business development for Billing Revolution,.

"For Billing Revolution, having the opportunity to partner with MoVoxx creates an opportunity to generate transactions with large CPG brands, retailers, mobile content providers and other companies that are buying mobile media," he said.

"By leveraging our solution, MoVoxx can further differentiate itself as a company that is delivering enhanced measurability and positive ROI as part of the campaign."

Billing Revolution provides technology that enables secure credit card purchases from a mobile phone.

Billing Revolution provides real-time reporting of transactions, refunds, cancellations and purchase page views.

Merchants use Billing Revolution's proprietary technology to provide a mobile optimized purchase experience.

Using the platform, merchants have the ability to conduct single-click credit card transactions from any Web-enabled mobile phone.

The partnership showcases both companies' focus on addressing the needs and delivering ROI to advertisers and merchants.

Mobile advertising is poised for huge growth and has many advantages, from better reporting and targeting, to enhanced ROI and measurability, according to Billing Revolution.

Founded in 2008, Billing Revolution specializes in alternative payment methods and technologies and expects to process more than $100 million in mobile payment transactions during 2009.

The company's technology currently works across all Web-enabled handsets and carriers, and accepts payments in more than 150 currencies worldwide.

MoVoxx is a mobile advertising network that leverages SMS messaging -- the widest reach media channel on mobile phones -- as an entry point to interactive mobile media experiences.

MoVoxx provides marketers with instant mobile audience reach by partnering with SMS content publishers who deliver real-time messages to millions of consumers on a daily basis, from sports scores and stock quotes to entertainment polling.

MoVoxx serves short, interactive ads under opt-in SMS content to enhance branding, drive direct response and provide measurable campaign results.

Using MoVoxx ad-serving technology, advertisers can reach the mobile audience they seek through demographic, contextual and device targeting.

Founded in 2006, MoVoxx is backed by Greycroft Partners, Khosla Ventures, First Round Capital and BV Capital.

"Too often, mobile advertising campaigns are about raising brand awareness or finding the nearest dealer rather than leveraging mobile as a highly personalized, direct response channel," Mr. Dulong said. "In this economy, why not sell products?"
