MyHeritage lets members search historical records via mobile app

MyHeritage has debuted a mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices that aims to help users with their family history research.
The MyHeritage mobile app lets users search more than 22 million family trees. The app is available for free download in Apple’s App Store.
“If you are in a situation where your company doesn’t have an app, you have fallen far behind," said Charles Sankowich, CEO of Friendthem.
"An app creates a consistent line of communication between a business and its customers while also presenting a strong push on the angle of notoriety, as users can see your logo every time they attempt to use their smart device," he said.
Mr. Sankowich is not affiliated with MyHeritage. He commented based on his expertise on the subject.
MyHeritage did not respond to press inquiries.
MyHeritage is a family network that lets millions of families around the world explore their history.
Through the MyHeritage mobile app, users can browse and search historical content.
The updated app features new profile pages, which are designed specifically for mobile devices and users can share photos with friends and family.
Users can do research via the app
Additionally, the mobile app syncs with a user’s family site on MyHeritage.com.
Users who do not have an account with MyHeritage can sign up for one to create their own family history.

The MyHeritage iPhone, iPad and Android app is a great way for the company’s users to stay connected no matter where they are.
Nowadays, consumers are constantly on the go and always have their mobile device with them.
Companies are seeing the power of mobile and are rolling out mobile apps to always stay connected with their users.
"As apps continue to become the biggest part of the technology landscape, companies in some instances, will be judged on how successful and useful their app is," Mr. Sankowich said.
"It isn’t enough just to be in app store anymore, you can see more companies making a concentrated effort to make sure their app stands out and creates interaction,” he said.
