AAA expands mobile repertoire with motorist app

AAA is building up its mobile presence with a new application that gives motorists access to all of its services in one place.

The AAA Mobile application bundles services such as mapping, gas price comparison and member-exclusive benefits including roadside assistance and discounts. The app is available for free download in Apple?s App Store and Google Play.

AAA provides more than 53 million members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services.

On the go services
Via the AAA Mobile app, consumers can use the Road Service Request feature, browse member discounts, finds an approved auto repair locator, as well as view gas station locations and updated gas information.

Users can also use the app to browse a list for AAA-approved attractions and campgrounds, check out AAA branch office locations, get instant battery replacement quotes and check where the electric vehicle charging station locations are.

Additionally, users who are not AAA members can sign up via the mobile app.

The AAA Mobile app was launched as an update to the current AAA Discounts application.

Last year, AAA launched a mobile initiative to help motorists save at the pump.

Through the initiative, the company let motorists compare and get access to frequently updated gas prices via a new feature within its mobile application (see story).

A few months later, the company continued its partnership with Sprint to offer consumers mobile deals for signing up for its programs (see story).

Most recently, AAA let motorists access valuable crash scene assistance and walked them through the post-traffic crash process of collecting information via a Android application (see story).
