New England Patriots go mobile

The National Football League has launched a mobile site dedicated to the New England Patriots.
NFL tapped Quattro Wireless to bring football fans up-to-date news and additional features right on their mobile devices. The mobile site features in-depth Patriots content, highlighting the team’s innovation on and off the field.
“[The purpose of the site] is to extend the team’s media presence and give Patriots fans access to all of the information and media they can find on the online site,” said Lars Albright, vice president of business development with Quattro Wireless.
Patriots mobile site will offer fans breaking news, podcasts, instant in-game tracker plus NFL mobile, also powered by Quattro.
To access the site, fans will simply go to www.patriots.mobi on their mobile phone browser.
By joining the powerhouse sports channel in the Quattro Mobile Ad Network, the site’s ad sales will be exclusively managed by Quattro.
The site features weekly and exclusively-mobile “Patriots Now” videos offering 1-2 minute clips of the latest team news.
It also features breaking news, team updates, rosters, schedules, a photo gallery, Patriots ProShop information and game reports.
Using Quattro’s Juicing technology and platform, the dynamic feed process incorporated into the site allows it to be updated with real-time game statistics and equips it to handle the expected high traffic volumes received on game days.
The site provides a breaking news section conveniently placed at the top of the homepage, displaying the most interesting and important news as soon as it breaks.
“Fans will now be able to follow the team in a more comprehensive way,” he said. “The Patriots as an organization are always innovative and embrace new technologies so mobile is the next new medium that they feel is important to their fans.”
