Samsung: Winning Big With Affordable Smartphones
It?s not easy to disrupt Forbes?s list of The World?s Most Valuable Brands. In this year?s list, tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, IBM and Google held their winning positions from 2012, but Samsung made a notable new appearance in the top ten. Samsung increased its brand value by 53% this year and, with $181 billion in revenues, is outperforming even Apple in sales.

The Internet Killed Distance. Mobile Computing Brought It Back.
For retailing, the key change produced by the Internet is that shopping online spared consumers the economic costs (in time, grief, and gas money) of visiting a store and locating a product. This has been called the ?death of distance.? Ex-Googlers Bring A/B Testing to Mobile Apps
Google doesn?t like to guess.The web giant famously tests the effectiveness of everything, from the placement of ad blocks on a search results page to the color of its logo. To do this, the company uses something similar to focus group testing: Different users will be shown different versions of a website, and the company tracks which versions perform better. It?s called A/B testing, and it?s now being used by everyone from tech startups to political campaign, according to an article from Wired.
