It's been one week since Spotify announced it would allow anyone on an iOS or Android tablet or smartphone to use its music streaming app free of charge. And, it appears this was a good move for the company as far as growing its listener base, per CNet.

Europe to investigate Telefónica deal for German mobile operator
LONDON – European antitrust regulators said Friday that they had opened an in-depth investigation into an agreement by the Spanish telecommunications company Telefónica to buy Germany’s smallest mobile operator, E-Plus, from its Dutch rival KPN, The New York Times reports.
