As smartphone screens grow larger and laptop computers grow thinner and lighter, sales of the iPad are declining and growth slowing for rival Android tablets.
Foursquare is preparing a major redesign of its original mobile app. After it pulled the traditional check-in and launched a new, standalone app called Swarm, the company is giving its existing discovery and location-based recommendation app an entirely new look and feel.
Mark Zuckerberg is thinking a lot about messaging. If the $19 billion purchase of WhatsApp wasn't enough proof, the Facebook chief executive officer spent a hefty chunk of today's earnings call talking about the opportunity in mobile communication.
Bubblews, a social network that came out of out of an extended test phase last week, pays users for posts that attract traffic and advertisers. Another company, Bonzo Me, has been doing something similar since early July.
