Mobile Minutes: YouTube subscriptions; AT&T sued by FTC; T-Mobile results; Apple CEO

Google acknowledged late Monday that it is considering a subscription service that would allow viewers to skip the ads that run before many YouTube videos.
That move would dramatically change the revenue model for the video colossus. 

AT&T Inc. was sued by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for allegedly deceiving customers on the speed of communication through its mobile data plans, according to a complaint filed in San Francisco federal court.

T-Mobile US Inc. on Monday posted record subscriber growth in the third quarter on the back of aggressive marketing campaigns, but booked wider-than-expected losses due to the cost of integrating its MetroPCS network. The fourth-largest wireless carrier in the United States has turned around years of subscriber losses with aggressive campaigns and discounts in recent quarters.

Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook fired back at CVS and Rite Aid on Monday after the drugstore chains blocked the iPhone maker's mobile payments service, saying there were plenty of other retailers around the world to sign up.
