Messaging app Kik is 'exploring partnerships'
While WhatsApp has staunchly remained a communications utility whose next big
feature will be voice calling, Kik is chasing the platform model made popular
in Asia by WeChat, LINE and KakaoTalk. It plans to make money by taking a cut
of games, music and other content that is published on the app, and potentially
through e-commerce transactions too.
