BNET goes mobile

CBS Interactive has partnered with Quattro Wireless to create a mobile offering for BNET, a Web site that provides business and financial information to executives.

Users can now access BNET's mobile site for Apple's iPhone at http://iphone.bnet.com. BNET is also launching a new mobile application for BlackBerry smartphones from Research in Motion.

"Quattro has partnered with CBS and BNET is the most recent launch in a series of successful mobile sites," said Lars Albright, vice president of business development for Quattro Wireless, Waltham, MA.

BNET will leverage Quattro's Ad Sales and Operations, as well as their technology platform, in order to bring its content to a mobile audience.

By adding BNET's readers to Quattro's targeting technology, the partnership creates opportunities for marketers and agencies.

BNET's new mobile site offers iPhone and iPod touch users access to one of the fastest-growing business and finance sites on the Internet.

Users can view the latest news and updates from BNET industry bloggers on a wide array of topics such as advertising, automotive, energy, finance, food, government, healthcare, media, travel, pharmaceuticals and retail.

Also available to mobile users will be BNET original video franchises, including "At the Whiteboard," where leading experts explain industry terms through illustrations, and "Best Practices," a series that offers practical advice on succeeding in the workplace.

The BNET application for BlackBerry smartphones, developed by Handmark, provides instant access to news and headlines built specifically for BlackBerry smartphones.

The application makes it easy to browse and read through stories, as well as personalize settings.

BlackBerry smartphone users can get insight into the top management of various industries from industry-leading voices, including Steve Tobak's "The Corner Office," while also learning the best strategies for getting a new job or advancing in your current one.

"We've had tremendous success with the rollout of mobile experiences for many of the recent CBS Interactive properties including CNET, CHOW and GameSpot, and have been able to apply this winning formula to BNET," said Jeff Sellinger, executive vice president and general manager at CBS Mobile, New York.

"This new mobile experience offers business executives instantaneous access to information that will help them succeed in the workplace," he said.
