ABC News to show real-time election results on mobile

News and information provider ABC News is offering real-time election results featured on its mobile Web site.

The mobile will provide primary and caucus results.

"This is a historic election, with more attention focused on the campaigns than we have ever seen before," said Natalia Labensky, spokeswoman for ABC News, New York.

"Bringing real-time election results to the fingertips of our users furthers our goal of providing ABC News' reporting and content to users on any device at any time," she said.

Refreshed hourly, ABC News' mobile site features breaking news, political coverage, entertainment updates, domestic photos, top stories and over 40 minutes of video programming.

In December, m.abcnews.com grew 12 percent from the prior month, claiming to break all previous records. Video views on the mobile site grew 31 percent from the previous month.

The Apple iPhone and iPod touch allow users to wirelessly stream the latest top news videos with just one tap at abcnews.com/iPhone.

iPhone and iPod touch users can also create an icon on the phone's home screen that takes them directly to the mobile site.

The ABC News Blackberry Launcher, which offers one-touch access to the ABC News mobile site from a user's device home page, was downloaded nearly 70,000 times since its launch in November.

"The site is ad-supported," Ms. Labensky said.
