March 12, 2008

Viva Vision's platform lets viewers control the playback of each SlideShow with pause, rewind and fast-forward options
Verizon Wireless and mobile content provider Viva Vision teamed up to give the carrier’s subscribers access to automotive photography from Car and Driver magazine via a slide show.
The Car and Driver SlideShow is the first interactive slide show application available to Verizon customers and is produced exclusively by Viva Vision. Through this partnership, automotive enthusiasts can view 100 images per month of the latest concept cars, speed vehicles and automobiles featured in Car and Driver magazine.
“The Car and Driver magazine SlideShow gives Verizon customers more entertainment and content options,” said Jeffrey Nelson, spokesman at Verizon Wireless, Basking Ridge, NJ. “Our strategy is to bring new cool entertainment to our customers in a new format.”
The images come packaged in seven different SlideShow categories such as Concept Cars, Editor’s Picks, Hot Cars and Luxury Cars. All SlideShow content is refreshed twice a week.
Verizon selected Viva Vision as the exclusive provider of SlideShow content.
Viva Vision’s platform lets viewers control the playback of each SlideShow with pause, rewind and fast-forward options. Additionally, subscribers can vote on and save favorite images.
“This is about photography in slide show format,” Mr. Nelson said. “Wallpaper used to be cool and now this is the next step. It’s like the evolution of wallpaper and taking still images to the next level.”
The Car and Driver SlideShow is currently available for $4.49 per month on 50 different Verizon mobile phones.
“Viva Vision is a content aggregator and slide show developer,” Mr. Nelson said. “They are helping us attain our main goal, which is providing consumers with more options.”
