March 12, 2008

Mobile users can subcribe to receive tournament information through SMS text message alerts
Mobile media company go2 has launched a mobile Web site focused solely on the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament.
The site gives basketball fans information on this spring’s NCAA basketball tournament, including game schedules, telecast schedules and game results. Visitors to the go2 NCAA mobile site will also find game previews, breaking news and information on how to predict which teams will make the tournament.
“We are focusing on a certain demographic, which is young males interested in basketball,” said Lee Hancock, founder of Go2. “We are letting advertisers reach that audience.
“We provide great information in lots of different verticals,” he said. “We monetize our business through advertising and we are selling across the network and already have some advertisers signed on.”
The site is available in XHTML and WAP 2.0 applications.
Mobile users can subscribe to receive tournament information through SMS text message alerts by visiting http://marchmayhem.go2.com.
Go2 is ranked by Nielsen Mobile as one of the top 20 mobile sites in the United States with mobile phone users accessing go2 more than 2 million times every month.
“The beauty of this is that although people are interested in this sporting event, they still need to live their lives,” Mr. Hancock said. “They can do so through the site, which gives them updates on whatever they may have missed. Time is valuable.”
