Myxer introduces copyright program for mobile content owners

Mobile content delivery specialist Myxer Inc. has launched its Protect copyright protection program for rights holders.

The program is a tool designed to give content owners open access to content administration tools that help with meeting the requirements of the Millennium Copyright Act.

"Protect allows us to aggressively continue our goal of expanding the universe of mobile content to millions of items contributed by independent artists and individuals, while working with more traditional media companies to protect their interests," said Myk Willis, founder and CEO of Myxer, in a statement.

Myxer, Deerfield Beach, FL, is working with content owners including record labels and movie and television studios to offer them access and control over the flow of content through the Myxer platform.

In essence, Protect is designed to help address the concerns of copyright holders in the mobile ecosystem. It is almost similar to eBay's VeRo rights administration system.

Myxer's mobile platform enables delivery of content or customized advertising campaigns across service providers and mobile devices.

Meanwhile, the company promoted part-timer Marsha Creely to hold the copyright compliance officer's title as an executive position reporting to the president.
