Kansas City Steak Co. fires up mobile platform to engage consumers

Kansas City Steak Co. has launched a free application for iPhone to engage consumers, helping anyone pick up tongs and serve a steak done to taste, no matter the cut.

Users can download the application from the Kansas City Steak Web site, and also get recipes, information on cuts of meat, and enter to win a monthly drawing for a $75 gift card from http://www.kansascitysteaks.com. Kansas City Steak hopes that the iPhone application will help it engage with its customers during the football season and the holidays.

?The app is a great tool that promotes our brand message of helping consumers ?bring the steakhouse to their house,? not only with top-quality products and how to buy them, but with the expert cooking techniques that help them put the perfect meal on the table,? said Edward Scavuzzo, president of Kansas City Steak, Kansas City, KS.

?The target demographic of the app is any steak lover,? he said.

Founded in 1932, Kansas City Steak is a family-owned company that offers a variety of meats and other foods directly to the consumer through the company's catalog and Web site.

Grilling tips on the go
Mr. Scavuzzo said that this free iPhone application brings grilling into the 21st century by having a  consultant right in the user?s pocket.

In addition to the grilling timer, the application also includes hundreds of steak recipes, tips on how to grill the perfect cut and a huge steak reference library.

This application is designed to be used year-round, with cooking times for gas grills, charcoal or indoor cooking.

Users can use the application to access a section with hundreds of steak recipes. They can search for recipes or browse based on the cut of meat.

Users can read the recipes on their device or email the recipe.

The application features steak-enthusiast blog posts so that users can get tips from the Master Chef, as well as Top 10 Grilling Tips, a guide to help users grill the perfect steak

Steak cooking charts are also included in the application for quick reference.
