NFL?s Denver Broncos fans give chance to win tickets via mobile

The Denver Broncos are celebrating their quest for the Super Bowl by giving fans the chance to win tickets to watch their favorite football team.

The NFL?s Broncos tapped marketing firm Dex for the in-stadium mobile initiative. During games, Broncos fans have the opportunity to use the mobile version of online local search site DexKnows.com at http://m.dexknows.com to win United Club Level seats to an upcoming Broncos game.

?The Broncos are always looking for fun, added benefits they can provide to fans attending their games,? said Deborah Eldred, director of mobile and personalization at Dex, Denver. ?Our mobile promotion provides them with the opportunity to offer fans something fun to participate in while the game is going on, as well as the opportunity to attend another game in the future.

?Regarding Dex, our partnership with the Denver Broncos is only the latest promotion we have launched surrounding our DexKnows.com mobile site and app,? she said. ?Since launching the site last March, we have partnered with other local sports teams, including the Colorado Rockies, to show how easy it is to use DexKnows.com mobile.?

Despite a significant amount of off-season turmoil, the Denver Broncos are currently 5-0 and in first place in the NFL?s AFC West division. The team goes head-to-head with the rival San Diego Chargers tonight on Monday Night Football.

Dex is a subsidiary of R.H. Donnelley, a provider of print and interactive marketing services.

Consumers can search the company's local business content to get relevant search results when they are seeking local goods and services.

Dex recently teamed up with Tribune Media Services to provide consumers with movie listing information and the ability to buy tickets from Fandango directly through their mobile devices.

?Many more activities and promotions are planned for the months ahead, all designed to help consumers quickly and easily find information on local businesses while on the go,? Ms. Eldred said.

Fans attending a game at Invesco Field at Mile High are prompted to text the keyword FOOTBALL to a short code.

The call-to-action appears on the Jumbotron. The short code is given in the message at the game. The reply text has a link back to http://m.dexknows.com.

From there fans will be directed to the Denver Broncos Stadium Store at the mobile version of DexKnows.com.

Two people who participate in the campaign will be chosen at random to win a pair of United Club Level seats to a Broncos game later in the season.

The mobile version of DexKnows.com can be accessed several different ways. A mobile Web version is available at http://m.dexknows.com, and DexKnows.com-specific applications are available for BlackBerry devices, as well as Apple?s iPhone and iPod touch.

?From our perspective, the promotion has allowed us to increase awareness about DexKnows.com mobile to the Denver community,? Ms. Eldred said. ?We're very pleased to have worked with the Denver Broncos and been able to provide their fans with the opportunity to try DexKnows.com mobile, and we'll certainly consider similar promotions in the future.

?We are building a database of consumers who want to opt-in for messages regarding DexKnows mobile,? she said. ?At some point, we will be able to target those who have opted in to participate in our promotions even if they are not at an event.?
