What are consumers? first reactions to the Droid by Motorola?

Verizon Wireless and Motorola recently unveiled the Droid, the first smartphone powered by Android 2.0.

Featuring high-speed Web browsing, voice-activated search, customizable large screen, access to thousands of Android applications, the Droid by Motorola arrives on Nov. 6. Here is what consumers think of the phone.

Henry, at the SoHo Verizon Wireless Communications store:
This allows me to further my gadget freakiness that I have and I think this is the best, fastest phone that is currently available.

I came down here as fast as I can just to hold this thing and this is the phone that I am going to be getting, hopefully by next Friday and I will be switching over from my current provider.

I think it?s really solid, it?s sturdy and doesn?t feel cheap and I love the form and everything seems very firm and thin by the way. It?s a great looking phone.

Sabrina, at the SoHo Verizon Wireless Communications store:
There are more options with this phone. I can do more things. I am big on texting and I use the phone mostly for that and I like the application feature and the physical maps is nice too.

I do like the three screens of organization. And then texting it is sometimes easier to do it through a keypad than the touch screen so I like that option.

Andy, at the SoHo Verizon Communications store:
With my phone I am looking to do as much as fast as I can and I am busy so I want to merge the personal and professional stuff and anything that sort of helps me do that is good.

I like the fact there is a keypad and a touch screen. It?s cool and that?s the feature that seems the most different about this phone. Eric, at the SoHo Verizon Communications store.

It appeals to me for the music aspect and its convenient if you are out and need to email someone for work and if you are trying to find something you can find it. It?s convenient.
