Triton, Airkast launch integrated mobile media service for radio groups

Triton Digital Media will offer its customers the AirKast mobile media platform as an integrated service in cooperation with Triton's digital services partners Ando Media and StreamTheWorld.

The companies claim this is the industry's first fully integrated rich media mobile ecosystem that allows radio groups to quickly and easily implement and monetize their mobile marketing strategies.

"Each of the companies brings a unique piece to this equation," said Mike Agovino, cofounder and chief operating officer of Triton Media Group, Los Angeles. "Triton is largest distributor of digital applications and content to radio enabling quicker scaling of product and faster path to monetization through the digital sales team.

"Ando brings real time audience measurement and ad-serving with the majority of major radio companies already utilizing Ando's tools there is nothing new to learn here," he said. "STW provides mobile CDN services and Airkast provides the ?best of breed' solution for mobile content discovery."

Available now, the integrated service package includes the TuneKast mobile radio from AirKast, Ando Media ad serving and audience measurement services and mobile content delivery services from StreamTheWorld.

TuneKast lets radio groups deploy a mobile strategy and deliver their content, information and advertiser messages in audio, display and video formats to millions of mobile handsets.

Broadcasters can the use StreamTheWorld's streaming to distribute their content.

Finally, using Ando Ad Injector and Ando Webcast Metrics, groups can traffic, serve and measure their ads.

The companies aim to help radio groups widen their audiences and increase advertiser revenues.

"The biggest benefit of this goes to radio itself," Mr. Agovino said. "The partnership enables a simple way to move your content onto the mobile playing field.

"Radio is the original mobile medium with listenership driven heavily through the car for years," he said. "The availability of Satellite radio, iPODS/MP3, Internet Radio and etcetera has challenged this dominance. Radio needs to make sure that it is available via every possible distribution platform moving forward with none more important than the mobile phone."
