Home Visions sponsors Washington Post Football Insider 2010 app

Home Visions Inc. is the official season-long sponsor of The Washington Post?s Post Football Insider 2010 application for Apple?s iPhone and iPod touch.

Like the Redskins Insider blog, the application lets readers access The Post?s continuous reporting, commentary and breaking news about the NFL?s Washington Redskins, in addition to play-by-play of games, stats, game schedules and photo galleries.

?We wanted to give Redskins fans a way to get The Post?s top-notch football content, including blogs, columns, images, news stories and features, where and when they want it?in print, online and mobile,? said Kris Coratti, director of communications at The Washington Post.

?The target demographic is Redskins and NFL fans everywhere,? he said. ?Home Visions is the exclusive launch sponsor and have display ads on the app.?

Home Visions sells a range of products such as furniture, window treatments, art, home décor, rugs and houseware.

The Washington Post is Washington, DC.'s largest newspaper and its oldest, founded in 1877.

Home Visions courts Redskins fans
Home Visions is running an NFL trivia contest via the Washington Post?s application letting Redskins fans compete to be entered to win a grand prize of $5,000 worth of window replacements, siding replacement, roofing replacement, kitchen remodeling, gutter replacement, attic insulation or door replacement.

Trivia questions will change week-to-week to maximize reader engagement.

Here is a screen grab of the application with a Home Visions banner:

This application is designed to showcase all of The Washington Post?s Redskins content and game-day tools in one place.

The Washington Post Football Insider 2010 application invites readers to view Washington Post-created Twitter feeds for Redskins news, as well as access the official team roster and injury information.

Readers will also find columns from Washington Post sports columnists such as Sally Jenkins, Tom Boswell and Tracee Hamilton.

The blogs ?Hard Hits with Lavar Arrington? and ?D.C. Sports Bog? by Dan Steinberg will be included later in the season.

The Redskins application is available for free from the App Store.

The Washington Post was mum about its marketing strategy for spreading the word about the Redskins application.

?We are doing PR and marketing around the launch, but do not have details to share,? Mr. Coratti.
