St. Louis Post-Dispatch taps iPad platform for breaking news coverage

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is bringing its morning paper to the iPad with added updates and breaking news as it happens.

The iPad application is another app that is being added to the publication's mobile repertoire. The company has more than six mobile applications and a mobile site.

The St. Louis Posts-Dispatch claims to be the largest of 46 daily newspapers owned by Lee Enterprises, along with rapidly growing online services and more than 300 weekly newspapers and specialty publications in 23 states.

Readers can browse top stories of the day via the application.

Additionally, users can browse video channels that feature the latest sports, news and entertainment videos of that day.

The application includes an iPad extra that lets readers view the best stories and projects of that day and the ability to look back at historical moments that helped define the publication.

Additionally, the traffic map feature includes detailed traffic conditions on highways and major roads in St. Louis.
