Sprint runs Super Bowl mobile sweepstakes

Sprint is giving users of its NFL Mobile Live application a chance to win a trip for two to the Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa Bay.

The wireless carrier claims this is its largest NFL promotion ever. Users fo the application get entered into the sweepstakes automatically, when they use the application.

"One of the things we are trying to do here is drive the usage of our NFL Mobile Live product," said Dave Dellin, spokesman at Sprint, Overland Park, KS. "We also see this as a way to thank our loyal customer base for using the product with a reward to the biggest game of the year."

The promotion will begin Sept. 1.

Each week throughout the NFL's 17-week regular season, any Sprint customer who uses NFL Mobile Live will be automatically entered for a chance to win two tickets to the NFL's biggest game.

Fans can use NFL Mobile Live each week to be entered for that week's drawing. Winners will be announced weekly.

Sprint claims it is the only source in wireless that delivers live NFL action directly to the fan.

The application gives fans more than the latest scores or highlights. They can listen to live radio of each NFL game and watch NFL Network live game telecasts on their mobile phones.

Fans can also watch all eight of the Thursday Night Football telecasts carried by NFL Network live beginning Nov. 6.

The application also allows fans to follow their favorite teams.

They can choose to receive text alerts from when a team scores or enters the red zone on game day, to injury reports and breaking news throughout the week and video highlights of teams and players from the Thursday Night Football telecasts.

NFL Mobile Live is included at no additional charge in Sprint's Everything plans starting at $69.99, or Simply EverythingS, which combines unlimited voice, messaging and extensive data services -- such as NFL Mobile Live -- for just $99.99 per month.

With other Sprint plans, customers can get NFL Mobile Live by adding a Data Pack, starting at $15 per month.

NFL Mobile Live is available on many Sprint handsets.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

Participants are allowed one entry per day.

"We will have in-store collateral promoting this and there will be messaging sent to people who use the NFL Mobile Live application that they are entered," Mr. Mellin said. "This initiative places emphasis on the live aspect of the application."
