Pfizer breaks mall-based mobile push for new Advil product launch

To help holiday shoppers breathe easier this season, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare is promoting the launch of Advil Congestion Relief by offering a personal Black Friday shopper via a mobile sweepstakes.

Pfizer has issued the mobile call-to-action via out-of-home posters in five malls, and will hire a personal shopping helper for 100 shoppers across the nation on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving known as the most crowded shopping day of the year. To enter the sweepstakes, consumers must text a keyword to a short code.

?Pfizer's strategy behind the launch of the mobile sweepstakes is to celebrate the launch of Advil Congestion Relief and provide literal congestion relief to consumers on Black Friday,? said Kimberly Fontes, spokeswoman for Pfizer, Madison, NJ.

?The goal of the campaign is to increase awareness and trial of new Advil Congestion Relief,? she said. ?We're targeting holiday shoppers in each of the five cities nationwide.?

Pfizer is a biopharmaceutical company with a diversified global health care portfolio that includes human and animal biologic and small molecule medicines and vaccines, as well as nutritional products and consumer products, including Advil.

Launched in time for the cold and flu season, Advil Congestion Relief a new sinus medicine brand focused on treating nasal inflammation. It is a combination of Ibuprofen and Phenylephrine, a nasal decongestant, that provides relief from sinus pressure, nasal swelling and congestion and headache.

From crowded malls to stuffy noses, consumers are in need of relief, especially during the hectic holiday season, per Pfizer.

In fact, a recent poll shows that about 70 percent of people avoid crowded or congested areas during the holidays.

Waiting in long lines and people sneezing and coughing top the list of biggest dislikes about Black Friday, according to the pharmaceutical giant.

To provide relief on the most congested shopping day of the year, Advil is unleashing a team of Black Friday ?Decongesters? who will help shoppers by waiting in long lines for them, running mall errands for them and carrying their heavy shopping bags.   

Beginning Nov. 15, shoppers at select Simon Malls in the Jersey City, NJ, Atlanta, Chicago, Grapevine, TX, and San Francisco areas were able to text for a chance to win a personal Black Friday ?Decongester,? who will help relieve their congested shopping day.

In addition, one grand prize winner in each city will also win a $1,000 gift card, compliments of Advil Congestion Relief, to help ease the stress on their wallet this holiday season.

To enter for a chance to win, compliments of Advil Congestion Relief, consumers were able to text the following keywords to the short code 89800 through Nov. 21:
