Drop Dead, Gorgeous premieres music video via the mobile phone

Rock group Drop Dead, Gorgeous partnered with mobile networking service Mozes Inc. to premiere their new music video via the mobile phone.

The Denver-based Drop Dead, Gorgeous premiered their latest single, "They'll Never Get Me (Word with You)," Nov. 2 via mobile. Fans could text the word 'gorgeous' to 66937 to receive a 30-second clip of the video delivered straight to their phones. Once they logged in at www.mozes.com, fans received a link to watch the entire video online.

"Drop Dead, Gorgeous came to us wanting an innovative way to deliver their latest video," said Irv Remedios, vice president of marketing at Mozes, Palo Alto, CA.

Using Mozes, brands, bands and fans can create and manage interactive text-message-based mobile campaigns and promotions. Mozes is permission-based, spam-free and cost-free to consumers.

Mozes also lets consumers send and receive exclusive mobile content to and from their favorite bands, friends and social groups using their mobile phone and their free account on Mozes.com.

On Mozes.com a "mob" is a group of people that can receive mobile messages from a band or a person. Individuals or bands can build their own mob by inviting friends to join them on Mozes. Fans can browse around the site and join the mobs of their favorite bands. Users are given access to free, exclusive content.

"Mozes realizes the value and excitement of the mobile device," Mr. Remedios said.

He said Mozes would like to see more live engagement. For example, on a recent tour, the band Plain White T's gave away two backstage passes every night they performed via fans texting the Plain White T's Mozes keyword.

"In regards to future plans, Mozes is seeking to help capture fans in the moment," Mr. Remedios said. "We are always looking for new ways for fans and bands to connect to each other."
