Mobile photo-sharing
ShoZu Inc. announced that AdobePhotoshop.com members can use its mobile social media service to quickly and easily upload photos from more than 350 different handsets to their accounts.
ShoZu's service allows Adobe Photoshop.com users to take advantage of support for additional handsets that include Apple iPhone, Apple iPod touch, Motorola RAZR2, Nokia 5310, Nokia 6301 and BlackBerry Pearl.
“This is an exciting new way for both ShoZu and Adobe to gain popularity for our respective services and a new sense of enjoyment and purpose for the consumer by addressing a missing link in the chain,” said Mark Jambas, IT manager at Shozu, San Francisco. “By combining services that both companies excel at, everybody can benefit.
“This new affiliation reflects the relationship we have had with Adobe for quite some time and will turn a great partnership into a brilliant one,” he said.
With the ShoZu application downloaded to the handset free of charge, Photoshop.com users can transfer full-resolution photos with accompanying titles and descriptions from the phone to their Photoshop.com account with a few clicks.
There is no need to open a mobile browser, interrupt phone calls, text messaging or camera use while images are transferring.
In addition, ShoZu users can simultaneously upload any given image to any number of Web destinations – ranging from Photoshop.com, Facebook, Google Blogger and WordPress to multiple email addresses without leaving the ShoZu application.
This not only eliminates the need for multiple uploads but also eliminates multiple data charges from the wireless provider where applicable.
Adobe recently introduced Photoshop Elements 7 and Adobe Premiere Elements 7, along with the option to sign-up for one year of Photoshop.com membership, extending the capabilities of the software by regularly providing helpful templates and creative tutorials.
Photoshop.com Plus membership provides 20GB of storage, which is enough for 15,000 photos, four hours of DVD-quality videos or a combination of both.
ShoZu can be downloaded at mobile.photoshop.com or http://www.shozu.com.
“The editing piece has been an important missing component for so long and camera phone photos can benefit a lot from the powerful Adobe platform,” Mr. Jambas said. “The creativity that this inspires will appeal to anyone who takes photos of any variety. What is the point of a photograph if it doesn’t look great and you can’t share it?"
