Mobile Minutes: Pinterest goes commerce; China blocks Instagram; AT&T doubles data; Ello rivals Facebook

It is no secret that Pinterest and other social commerce sites have begun to dial in the commerce equation. The combination of Search and Social is redefining the way marketers are allocating their ad budgets.

Instagram, the popular photo-sharing service owned by Facebook Inc (FB.O), has been blocked in China, according to numerous reports, including from Hong Kong-based reporters with the New York Times.

The Dallas telecommunications company said on Saturday that it would double the amount of data on its shared data plans starting at the 15-gigabyte tier. The promotion, available to both new and existing customers, begins on Sunday and ends October 31.

The free invite-only service receives more than 45,000 requests an hour, according to co-founder Paul Budnitz, who said he came up with Ello because ?none of the social networks are fun anymore.?
