MyLifeBrand debuts Greg Brady community

MyLifeBrand seeks to connect fans to Greg Brady

Web and mobile service MyLifeBrand allied with brand consultancy The Blake Project to launch an online Greg Brady community.

The online community is fan-driven and lets users create profiles, share photos and videos, message each other and blog.

“Specifically for [the] Greg Brady community we are targeting any fans of the show and actor Barry Williams,” said Daniel Scalisi, executive vice president of MyLifeBrand, Seattle.

“Different, however, than self-formed social networks groups, this community is about fans interacting with fans and the personality,” he said. “It is about a two-way dialogue between actor and fans.”

This community marks the second community launched with The Blake Project. The first was a Utah Jazz online community for sports fans.

Members of the Greg Brady community on MyLifeBrand can manage their other social networks and friends without leaving the community through the site’s social network aggregation tools.

“The strategy is to establish a very interest-centric community where the members are interacting with members of much more similar interests than you find in other social network groups,” Mr. Scalisi said. “The expectation for the venture is we can build and service a more target rich community base.

“Clearly the plan around that business is to grow it into a respectable ad serving marketplace as well as foster other targeted transactional opportunities such as the sale of relevant products and services,” he said.

The challenge MyLifeBrand is addressing is two-fold. One, it is attempting to simplify the user’s online life by connecting his or her social networks, communities, services, content and friends in one place.

Two, it is enabling any company or person to create an interest- and brand-centric community which also incorporates this interconnectivity for their members.

“This gets companies of all kinds in the social network game, all the while helping them simplify the lives of their members,” Mr. Scalisi said.
