Chat Mobility, iSelectMD tap mhealth to eliminate in-office visits

Chat Mobility and iSelectMD are working together to provide consumers with real-time access to certified physicians and healthcare information that does not require them to make in-office visits.

As the lines between mobile and healthcare continue to merge, service providers are aiming to satisfy customers? needs using modern technology and mobile capabilities. Through this solution, consumers can seek detailed information more seamlessly and be on the road to recovery more quickly by saving time.

"Chat Mobility is proud to partner with iSelectMD to provide this time- and cost-saving service utilizing wireless technology," said Brian Spurgeon, general manager at Chat Mobility, Omaha. "We believe this service will be extremely beneficial to rural residents as it provides them with access to healthcare professionals at any time."

Finding a cure
Effective yesterday, all Chat Mobility employees and subscribers will have access to a national network of board-certified physicians through iSelectMD.

Using a wireless device with iSelectMD, Chat Mobility customers and employees can speak with a physician via voice or video service to resolve everyday illnesses or to ask health questions.

The iSelectMD program launched earlier this year with Competitive Carriers Association and will provide consumers with reduced costs and immediate, real-time access to healthcare professionals.

Chat Mobility, a provider of wireless services, claims to be one of the first early adopters of mobile health with iSelectMD and CCA.

Health going mobile
Marketers have been leveraging mobile to correct false or misleading information about the Ebola outbreak and ease public concern, as 21st century technology is enlisted to combat a disease that resembles a plague from ancient times.

Amid the dissemination of incorrect statements about Ebola?s cause through social media, authorities are using mobile applications to give the facts about the disease, which began in Africa and has spread globally. The tapping of mobile to correct misleading statements points to the role it can play as a valuable public-relations tool during a public health crisis (see story).

Beauty and wellness mobile application Priv recently worked with Hot Towels, a New York barber service that travels to customers, to offer Movember-related services and donated 50 percent of the proceeds to the Movember Foundation.

Movember, an annual event to raise awareness and funds for men?s health, supports the growing of men?s facial hair throughout the month of November. To support the maintenance of facial hair growth, Priv and Hot Towels leveraged the mobile channel to also support men?s health (see story).
