KIT digital partners with GoTV for mobile video

KIT digital has partnered with GoTV to meet consumers' increasing demand for mobile video.

The distribution agreement will expand KIT digital?s distribution network nationwide. The company plans for better video content management and delivery to its consumers.

?As KIT digital looks to 2010 and beyond, we have shifted our strategic focus to large enterprise customers,? said Barak Bar-Cohen, executive vice president of global business development at KIT digital, Prague, Czech Republic.

?The types of relationships that GoTV has with U.S.-based Tier 1 and Tier 2-level mobile network operators dovetails perfectly with our sales and marketing focus to continue building and expanding the business and the KIT digital brand,? he said.

?KIT digital has one of the premiere triple-device video enablement platforms in the world, with a significant number of mobile video deployments globally.?

KIT digital provides on-demand, Internet protocol-based video asset management solutions. Some of its clients include Best Buy, Disney, ABC, Google, General Motors, Intel, McDonald?s and the Associated Press.

GoTV will be a distributor and sales representative of KIT digital?s VX-one platform to wireless network providers, Internet service providers, broadcasters, content owners and content distributors.

The service will work on all mobile devices.

GoTV?s current partners include AT&T, Sprint, Research In Motion's BlackBerry, T-Mobile USA, Google's Android, Apple, Verizon Wireless and Cricket.

The company claims that it intends to fully deploy VX-one across its global client set by the end of the third quarter.

?The monetization strategy is wholly dependent on the kinds of solutions and types of mobile video features, functionality, and benefits that GoTV and KIT are pitching to various carriers,? Mr. Bar-Cohen. ?Some carries may want a mobile strategy that is complementary to what they have online, while others are looking at pay-per-download or pay-per-view, or purely download.

?KIT digital has the platform to support any monetization strategy the carriers would like and is equipped to meet all of their needs,? he said.

The company claims that it will offer wireless carriers feature-rich content services.

Consumers can also watch live and video on demand content on their devices.

GoTV anticipates that the adoption momentum toward smartphones nationwide will continue in the coming year.

Additionally, the company claims that there will be a drastic increase in consumption of mobile video.

?KIT digital will be getting the word out about our mobile capabilities and increasing overall awareness of the KIT digital brand through an aggressive marketing and PR strategy campaign targeting Tier 1 and Tier 2 mobile operators,? Mr. Bar-Cohen said.
