3rd Dimension expands mobile footprint

A free mobile traffic video service is now available to the Louisville, KY-area commuters, helping them plan the most efficient route to their office, home or leisure destinations.

The 11 Mobile Traffic Tracker, provided by WHAS11 in partnership with 3rd Dimension Inc. provides drivers with access to live video streams from 62 strategically located Trimarc traffic cameras on the region's three main highway corridors - I-71, I-64 and I-65 - as well as the Watterson Expressway.

"Louisville is part of our larger rollout strategy to expand our footprint throughout the United States," said Eric Joseph, president of 3rd Dimension, New York.

"We are taking our advanced, live video traffic services and expanding their availability into some of the largest DMAs in the country," he said.

"This allows us to serve residents within each of the metro areas as well as expand our national network, ultimately allowing us to offer advertisers a broader cross-section of higher net worth individuals throughout the country."

The service will assist the more than 1.2 million residents of Jefferson County, including Metro Louisville, and the surrounding eight counties.

The live traffic video feeds are provided by cameras operated by Timarc, a project of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in the Louisville region.

"For the consumer, we enable them to use their time and energy dollars most efficiently by allowing them to know in advance which routes are most accessible," Mr. Joseph said.

"For marketers, we are helping them to target affluent consumers with our continuously expanding footprint offering marketing messages and a promotional vehicle that can be modified on a real-time basis," he said.

"We also provide marketers with the ability to target consumers in local markets."

The advertising-supported service is compatible with Java and data-enabled phones on the Sprint, Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile networks.

Users can access the service on popular smartphones including the iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm and Motorola Q.

"3rd Dimension is all about mobile -- we are a mobile marketing and application company and we have developed our Mobileyes platform in order to serve a variety of audiences," Mr. Joseph said. "Mobile also offers the ability to target and customize content to specific users' preferences.

"Our traffic application is easy to use and highly useful to commuters," he said. "It offers marketers an efficient way to target users right before they hit the road."
