UVuMobile, Action Engine ally for mobile video and ads
March 27, 2008

One-stop shopping for mobile multimedia
UVuMobile Inc. said it has signed a licensing agreement with Action Engine to provide an integrated multimedia services platform for media companies and wireless carriers.
This agreement will allow Action Engine customers to improve their on-device portals with on-demand multimedia options that can be advertising-enabled. According to Research and Marketing, streaming media enterprise markets were estimated at $230 million in 2006, with expectation to reach $2 billion by 2013.
“Combining uVuMobile’s Media Distribution platform’s streaming video and audio along with Action Engine’s On-Device Portal platform and their capabilities of mobile advertising, this integrated solution now provides customers a one-stop-shopping for delivering, managing and monetizing mobile multimedia services,” said Scott Hughes, chief technology officer of uVuMobile, Atlanta.
“Companies no longer need separate vendors to build their applications, stream their video and deliver their advertisements,” he said. “This alliance provides Action Engine the opportunity to offer a streamlined, single-vendor approach to delivering rich multimedia content to wireless consumers.”
UVuMobile provides back-end media hosting, application development, mobile marketing, messaging, content aggregation, billing, advertising and other services targeting the mobile business-to-business market.
UVuMobile’s platform for streaming video and audio allows for advertising insertion, including pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll video commercials.
“Action Engine recognized that uVuMobile provided a backend media and content solution they were lacking,” Mr. Hughes said. “Combined with Action Engine’s client base, uVuMobile’s Media Distribution platform allowed them to provide a solution for the delivery of video and content their customers demanded.
“CTIA also represents the second anniversary of an alliance between uVuMobile and Action Engine and it collaboration with MSNBC,” he said.
