LG creates new mobile TV technology for US, neighbors: report
South Korea's LG Electronics is reported to have developed mobile television technology for the U.S., Canadian and Mexican markets to watch terrestrial digital broadcasts on mobile phones or navigators while on the go.

The Digital Chosun claimed LG took a couple of years to create the new technology called Mobile Pedestrian Handheld. Dozens of field tests were also said to have been conducted in North America.

Per that report, LG claims that its technology offers clear, high-definition images at a speed of up to 90 kilometers an hour without requiring additional frequencies in the United States, Canada or Mexico. Only an upgrade of the existing broadcasting equipment is needed.

LG is expected to demonstrate the new technology at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas.
