Opera launches Open Mobile Ad Exchange - News briefs

Opera launches Open Mobile Ad Exchange
Opera Software has launched the Open Mobile Ad Exchange service, offering cloud-based advertising on feature phones and smartphones.

The Open Mobile Ad Exchange makes the 66.5 million Opera Mini users available to advertisers, publishers and wireless carriers. With this launch, Opera is trying to open the world of feature phones, where it claims Opera Mini is the dominant browser, to mobile advertising.

With Opera?s Open Mobile Ad Exchange, publishers can generate revenue from applications and content by using JavaScript in their Web pages.

Advertisers can gain visibility and control over advertising monetization via near-real-time reporting and analytics.

Campaign management, frequency control and targeting results let advertisers gauge return on investment for their mobile campaigns.

Advertisers, agencies and ad networks can reach Opera?s audience via ads that appear not in the Opera Mini browser interface, but rather as regular Web site advertising.
