Glu Mobile's Super Breakout game for mobile

Glu Mobile Inc. has brought back Atari’s original retro hit with the launch of Super Breakout for mobile.

This new game builds on the massive success of the original Breakout, released by New York-based Atari Inc. nearly 30 years ago.

While staying true to the classic game format, Super Breakout brings new game modes, graphics and themes to offer fresh challenges to a new generation of gamers.

Super Breakout allows gamers to prove their skills on new block breaking designs, explosive power-ups and hidden bonus content.  The game also includes classic double breakout, cavity breakout and progressive breakout action. A new adventure mode feature offers improved graphics and sounds.

In addition, there are new un-lockable phases with unique level designs and progression, exclusive weapons, temporary power-ups and hidden keys throughout the game to uncover secret levels and bonus stages in each theme.

Users can purchase the game online at the Glu Mobile Web site at www.glu.com and through all major wireless carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon. Gamers can try before they buy via a virtual handset application on the Glu site.

When the game is purchased from Glu’s site, it is automatically installed on a handset via SMS download link. For carriers that do not allow this service, users must manually install the game on their device.

Instructions for manual installation are also available on the site.

Super Breakout is the latest Glu title launched through its multi-year, worldwide alliance with Atari. The game is available now in North America and will continue to launch worldwide in the coming months. Glu also launched Centipede earlier this year.

Glu’s portfolio also includes original titles Super K.O. Boxing!, Stranded and Brain Genius.
