Japanese-owned brewer Sapporo USA has hired g8wave Holdings Inc. to handle mobile services.

Sapporo will target loyal and casual drinkers with mobile content and special offers on their mobile phones.

Content such as ringtones and wallpapers, as well as information on Sapporo events and where to buy the beer will be available through Web and mobile Web and WAP sites in English and Japanese.

G8wave, Boston, will power Sapporo’s mobile content.

The mobile services company offers mobile content distribution, mobile marketing applications and consulting and mobile community development.

Sapporo  is the most-sold Japanese beer in the United States. It holds the same distinction among imported beers sold nationwide. The product portfolio includes Sapporo Draft Beer, Yebisu Beer and Draft One.
