NATPE Mobile++ to take the stage in Las Vegas
December 13, 2007

Mobile matters even more to NATPE members
The growth of mobile entertainment and content is expected to be discussed at the next National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) show.
Now in its fourth year, NATPE will be held at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas on Jan. 28-31.
“NATPE members are looking to the mobile medium to expand their delivery options, create new forms of entertainment and generally reach a mass audience with desired content,” said Rick Feldman, executive director for NATPE.
“We are moving into a digital era, and mobile plays a key part in the delivery mechanism for content,” he said.
NATPE Mobile++ is targeting all players in content delivery and development. In attendance will be key decision makers representing the entire mobile content market including carriers, brands, entertainers and media companies.
Speakers will include Joe Jasin of SK Telecom USA; Michael Bayle, senior director of monetization at Connected Life at Yahoo Inc.; Greg Clayman, executive vice president of digital distribution and business development at MTV Networks; and Maureen Fitzpatrick, vice president of mobile development at FremantleMedia.
The roster also includes Kent German, senior editor at CNET; João Gonzaga, chief technology officer and co-founder at conVISUAL; John Hadl, founder CEO of Brand in Hand and director at Procter & Gamble Ad Lab; Will Hodgman, president/CEO of M:Metrics; Jason Turner, director of interactive of the American region at FremantleMedia Licensing Worldwide; and Roger Wood, senior vice president and general manager of the American region at Amobee.
While traditional programming moves to new platforms and original material is being developed specifically for broadband and mobile delivery, NATPE considers itself in the position of bringing together players in this new environment.
Mobile presents an opportunity by offering content producers the ability to reach a direct audience on a mass scale.
“Our aim is to provide strategic sampling: Executive summaries and valuable bite-size pieces of the most crucial information needed in evolving your business,” Mr. Feldman said. “Our focus is on strategies: How to effectively create and profit from the mobile content industry.
“NATPE Mobile++ complements the annual NATPE conference and exhibition by focusing a full day of sessions and discussions on the opportunities for content creators in the mobile and digital arena,” he said.
