Amazon pounces on Twitch after Google balks due to antitrust concerns
One technology giant?s loss is another?s gain. In May, Variety first reported that Google was in talks to acquire video game streaming company Twitch for more than $1 billion. Three months later that deal is dead and Amazon.com confirmed on Monday that it?s purchasing Twitch for approximately $970 million in cash.

In a move that will have repercussions for a wide array of media companies, Facebook is changing its all-important algorithms to discourage what it calls "click-baiting headlines."

Twitter has added twelve new countries to its advertising network, called Twitter Ads, with most markets in Central and Eastern Europe. The new countries include: Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Portugal.
