Brides magazine targets new readership via mobile digital subscriptions
Conde Nast?s Brides magazine is letting current and new readers subscribe or buy single issues via Apple?s App Store.
Starting July, consumers will be able to subscribe to Brides magazine and read issues via their iPad devices. Readers can browse a 360-degree cover gown from the third annual Operation Dream Dress design content, which is featured on the July cover.
?Brides for the iPad is the magazine come to life with interactive features, video and more,? said Joyce Bautista, managing editor at Brides, New York.
A monthly, Brides has published monthly for 76 years. The iPad edition was created in-house.
Brides is letting readers buy issues via the in-app purchase on the App Store.
Subscriptions will be available for $1.99 per month, $19.99 per year or $9.99 for 6 months.
Additionally current print subscribers can access iPad editions through their current subscription.
?The flexible price structure makes it easy for engaged women to buy the app, be inspired and get great tips no matter where they in their planning ? whether they're putting the finishing touches on their reception or just beginning,? Ms. Bautista said.
?And, of course, we didn't want our loyal print subscribers to miss out, so the iPad version is available to them, too,? she said
Via the iPad app, readers can browse behind-the-scenes videos of fashion shoots, as well as photo galleries of the best destinations for a road-tripping honeymoon and some wacky overnight stops
In addition, users can view editors? audio reviews of their finds of the month and participate in an interactive poll to see how they compare with other brides.
?We're currently exploring lots of ideas for mobile apps, but don't foresee launching any of them earlier than fourth quarter,? Ms. Bautista said.
