Slate Cosmetics sponsors ModiFace Live augmented reality filters for personalized ads

Slate Cosmetics is sponsoring a new augmented reality application launching today that enables users to live chat with friends using filters created by beauty brands to showcase product possibilities.

The new cosmetic brand is partnering with the app to coincide with its goal to connect with the modern makeup fan through various digital outlets. The ModiFace Live app gives users a fun method in digitally testing out a variety of makeup looks, while simultaneously messaging with friends, bringing awareness for the brand.

?[The app] gives brands a way to sponsor Live effects on user's own faces,? said Parham Arabi, CEO of ModiFace. ?It is a new type of more interactive, more interesting, and more personal advertisement that is perfect for mobile.

?We have seen significant interest from brands and have many live effects planned with beauty brands,? he said.

Augmented beauty reality

Slate Cosmetics is the first brand to partner with the app and share curated looks. The cosmetic brand is leveraging its products and expertise to develop styles specific to ModiFace Live.

Unilever?s Lakme, Amore Pacific?s Laneige and Allergan?s Juvederm will be rolling out looks in the near the future.

The app is live today, allowing users to try on looks and share with friends through various messaging applications. ModiFace Live taps into the mobile device?s camera and users can choose from the front facing camera or original to try on various makeup looks.

The digital makeup looks feature a variety of eye shadow colors, eyeliner options, mascara and lipstick. At the end of the list features filters in which users can change the color of their eyes, whiten their teeth and shape their eyebrows.

One filter options allows users to swipe through various makeup looks by raising their eyebrows and puckering their lips.

Messaging integration
Facebook Messenger is integrated so fans that want to share videos and pictures with friends click the share button on the top right. The content can go straight to Facebook messenger or clicking other will bring up a range of options such as saving or sending through SMS.

?This deep integration allows you to use ModiFace Live instead of the regular camera to record a video during the chat with a friend,? Mr. Arabi said ?The big difference is that using ModiFace Live enables users to apply Live effects on their video.

?So if you are not wearing makeup, you now can, virtually,? he said. ?If you want to look a little, or a lot different by trying a new eye color, whiten your teeth, and adjust your brows, you can.

?The idea is to enable users to apply live effects to their video during a chat, with some of the effects being sponsored by brands.?
