M&C Saatchi Shop and Unilever launch chatbot to help Simple skincare shoppers

London, UK (26th July)

M&C Saatchi Shop and Unilever today unveil a Simple brand first, with a chatbot designed to help shoppers navigate the skincare category.

As the retail landscape shifts, Simple and M&C Saatchi Shop are leading the way in closer retailer collaboration and innovation, to help adapt to changing consumer demands in the way they shop.

Developed in partnership with Superdrug, “Bella the Bot” helps shoppers navigate and shop the Simple range with their mobile, wherever they are – at home or in-store. She provides skincare regime tips and real-time advice about finding the right products for your skin, which can be immediately added to basket. Shoppers can chat to “Bella the Bot” by scanning a Facebook Messenger code with their mobile at-shelf, or online.

Evelyne Wilkinson, Global Customer Marketing Manager at Unilever said: “Skincare is a confusing category to shop so the chatbot is an extremely valuable tool. We know that 83%* of smartphone users consult their phones whilst in-store to help them make purchase decisions.  This partnership with Superdrug allows us to connect the online and offline environments to better suit our audience; and to do so in a measurable way.”

“Bella the Bot” is live online and across Superdrug stores from July.
